Simon Constable’s Equine Practice was founded in 1997, in response to the need for a practice in the area that was 100% dedicated to the care of horses, ponies and donkeys. We are based in Tyldesley, close to the major motorways which enables us to respond quickly to calls from all of our catchment area.
The practice has expanded greatly over the last decade, and there is now a team of 5 exclusively equine vets, covering an area that includes Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire. A minimum of 2 vets are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which ensures we provide a great service to you and your horse, regardless of location.
Investment within the practice has always been a top priority, both in terms of the latest equipment, and continued professional development (CPD) for the vets. This means we not only have the best equipment, but the skill and knowledge to use it effectively and appropriately. Most recently we have invested in portable digital radiography, which has already proved invaluable.
The continuity of care is something that we take extremely seriously. We have a policy of the same vet following a case from start to finish, so they are intimately familiar with the horse, the owner and the disease. This creates the optimal situation for your horse’s care and recovery. In addition to this, all vets are kept informed about ongoing cases by weekly meetings. This means that should you need advice, or your horse need attention, during the night or at a weekend, the vet on call will already be up to speed with what has happened.
